Good News

Shadow on the Sea
SOLD
The good, no great news, is that I sold my "Shadow on the Sea" at the Pence Gallery in Davis!  What fun and how great to think it is hung and appreciated in someone's home.
As mentioned before, I have in the past forgotten how my art can become someone's enjoyment.  Now when working, I'm thinking of how art is really for someone out in the world.  The artist enjoys the creation for a period of time, but the owner will enjoy it for years and it will become a familiar thing in their environment.  This  perspective is very satisfying to me.
Thanks again to all my friends that journeyed down to Davis to view the show.  The reception was made special by having friends celebrate with me.  I won't think back fondly on the Pence gallery, without remembering my friends.
Thank you to Natalie Nelson, Director/Curator, for all her assistance in the selection process and hanging of the show.  I enjoyed working with her and her associates.

I made it - Pence Gallery in Davis

Shadow on the Sea

The  big day has arrived and I'm showing five piece at the Pence Gallery.  The ARTful Women group and Pence's Natalie Nelson Curator has created a beautiful show.  All the quality and variety of fiber art is on display.  I do hope that you can visit, if not for the Artist Reception 11/14 6-9PM, then sometime later until 12/30.

Vacaville Art Gallery Artist Reception

Birch Tree Sunlight
at Reception

Here is one of my favorite pieces, right inside the front door.! Vacaville Art Gallery is located in a darling Victorian house right on the Monta Vista St next to a park and downtown Vacaville.
Two groups- ARTful Women and Fiber Affair - were showing.  The reception was fun and I enjoyed seeing my friends who live in the area - Zane & Barb.   Show will continuer until Oct 25.

Next up will be Weaverville on Main Street and then the Pence in Davis.  You will be getting emails and more information later.  Please save the evening of Nov 14 so you can come to the Pence Art Gallery and Davis' Art About.  It is always fun to share with friends.

I Found It!

I love this piece and have oodles of more designs on sketch books and floating in my mind.  This design/technique has endless possibilities.   Sculpture from fiber, embellishments, and painted window screening.  What more could I want?

Soft Sculpture - WAVE
Did you notice the copper disk on the right?  I had been wanting to sign my work, but it is difficult with the variety of fiber and other material I use.  A good friend Catherine High, created the little disks and some larger with silver metal behind the copper.  Aren't they great.  My initials are just right.  PB

Work in Progress

Art in Progress
Sorry for the less than professional picture, but wanted you to see the second in a series of work I am doing.  The pieces have two layers, the back layer with detailed representation of - in this case, sea weed, and the top layer which is netting with strong lines that emphasize the lower layer.  Trust me, it looks better in person and it won't be long before there are better pictures.  This is the second of the series.  The first one was of a tree and autumn leaves, and the third, not yet started, is of a landscape with cattails.

Danville Success

Where's the Point
Sold April 2014
Danville Theater Gallery
The ARTful Women had great success with their show at the Danville Theater Gallery on Front Street.   Over ten of our pieces were sold plus card packages.  We are all thrilled and appreciate Amy Miller's work as the curator of the show.  I do not know who purchased my piece at this time, but  Thank you.

Next shows are listed on Schedule of Shows & Awards page.  Please note that the ARTful Women have been invited to show at The Gallery at 48 Natoma in Folsom CA in Jan - March 2015.
